Does it work without WiFi or smartphone?

Yes — completely. Set your schedule directly on the device, and DEFI handles alarms, LED slot guidance, voice prompts, and intake logging entirely on its own. Connect Wi-Fi later (or never) if you want to add app-based history, family alerts, and remote scheduling.

How long does the battery last?

DEFI is designed to stay plugged in via USB-C, so it's always on and never needs daily charging. The built-in rechargeable lithium-ion backup keeps every alarm, slot LED, and dose log running through power outages, brief unplugging, or a weekend trip — no missed doses, no resetting your schedule.

Can family members monitor my medication?

Absolutely — and this is one of the most loved features. Invite up to five family members or caregivers to your DEFI circle, and they'll see every dose taken, missed, or delayed in real time. If a dose is missed, push notifications go out automatically, so you can check in before it becomes a problem. Built for peace of mind when caring for aging parents, partners with chronic conditions, or kids on routine meds.

Is my health data secure?

Yes. All communication between your DEFI device, the app, and our servers is end-to-end encrypted, and your medication data is anonymized at rest. We never sell, share, or monetize your information — not to advertisers, not to insurers, not to anyone. You choose exactly who sees your schedule, and you can revoke access at any time.

What if I take medications 3-4 times daily?

DEFI 14 gives you 14 independent slots, plus up to 10 daily alarms — so most people covering 1x or 2x daily routines are set for a full week on a single load. For 3x or 4x daily schedules, the Twin Set (AM + PM) or Trio Pack (morning / noon / evening) keeps each dose in its own dedicated box, so you never re-sort mid-week and never second-guess which dose is next.

A slot can hold several pills. What if I only take one?

Great question — DEFI uses IR sensors to detect whether a slot has been opened, not to count individual pills. The simple rule: load each slot with everything you take at that time (one pill or ten, it doesn't matter), and take all of it together when the alarm goes off. For people on complex regimens with pills at different times of day, use the Twin Set or Trio Pack so each dose gets its own device and its own slots — no confusion, no partial doses.
